Local Authorities Scores on the Doors initiative for Commercial Kitchensa poem by Malcolm Brown I work in a kitchen that’s similar to yours With very few staff & too many chores Just one solitary window for natural light Makes looking around such a miserable sight The canopy fan that’s kept working all day With its hum and its roar & poor suction we pay From the oil that drips down & rancid fat smell Plus the heat from the cookers it’s a kitchen from hell There’s a radio’s left on and boy is it blaring and it numbs all my senses its enough to start swearing So much food to prepare and the clock ticking by Will I make the set deadline? Struth my throats feeling dry Working five days a week in unbearable heat It’s something you get used to, & then there’s my feet For I’m standing all day, and must walk with due care Cos the state of the floor means each step is a dare Just a slip or a trip, will alone spell disaster I’m not sure if my bones are yet ready for plaster But I know of a company that can degrease all your floors Just give Sure Foot a call and win scores on your doors If you're quick, you'll see Malcolm on the bandstand at Royal Ascot this week ;) Call Malcolm or Tim on 01344 624146 |
